How we choose your three hotels
You should be able to understand why a hotel is shown.
These are the weights and rules that actually run in production code, imported directly from src/lib/decision/score.ts, not a simplified description.
No paid placement
Tripnorm never charges to rank a hotel higher. A hotel receives one of the three roles solely based on the score below, never based on which partner listed it or what Tripnorm earns from a booking. The complete promise, versioned and verifiable, is in Independence declaration.
The three roles
Safest
Highest (risk × 0.5 + total score × 0.5) among candidates with zero disqualifiers. A disqualified candidate can never become Safest. No exceptions.

Best value
Most for your money when cancellation and fees are included, not simply the lowest price, among hotels that have not already failed a hard rule.

Hidden gem
Strongest character score among the remaining options, excluding hard-disqualified candidates.

How the score is weighted
The score combines six factors. The weights are public, add up to 100% and are shown in every result.
"Passar resans syfte" väger in vad resan gäller och varje önskemål du skriver: lugnt eller livligt, barnvänligt, arbetsro, centralt läge, stil, bekvämligheter du kräver och sådant du vill undvika. Vi jämför dem med det vi vet om hotellet, och på hotellsidan ser du vad som matchade. Det vi inte vet räknas aldrig in, varken för eller emot.
Behöver du fler än tre? "Visa fler alternativ" visar reserverna, alltså hotell som klarade alla hårda regler men inte fick någon roll. De kommer tre i taget, i samma poängordning som ovan och med samma poäng på varje kort. Ingen ny logik, inga andra vikter. Varje kort visar också marginalen till tvåan: "jämnt lopp" betyder att tvåan låg mindre än fem poäng efter. En knapp seger ska aldrig se självklar ut.
Enrichment weights
Enrichment adds structural hotel signals without changing the ranking. The weights used are exported from the same engine that calculates the source data.
The purpose affects the weights
The purpose of the trip changes which properties are prioritised. A business trip and a leisure trip reward different qualities in the same hotel.

Rules that can exclude a hotel
Some rules block the entire candidate, while others only block one role. This is always stated in the evidence for each card.
