Cookies and storage

You choose what is voluntary.

Last updated: 2026-09-23

Translation for information. The Swedish version applies

Short answer

Tripnorm does not set any cookies today, whether for tracking, marketing or analytics. There is no cookie consent banner because there is no cookie activity to consent to.

What is stored locally in your browser

Tripnorm uses browser local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) for features that make the product easier to use. What is stored remains in your browser on this device. It is never sent to us as an identifier and is not used for tracking or marketing. This is the complete list:

  • tripnorm.searchHistory.v1 (localStorage): Search history: your latest searches, so you can run a previous search again. It stores up to the latest 50 searches and is cleared with “Clear history” in the History view. The same button also clears the cost centre below.
  • tripnorm.costCenter.v1 (localStorage): Cost centres: if you enter a cost centre or project number for a business trip, it is stored locally so you do not have to enter it each time. Clear the field or use “Clear history” to remove it.
  • tripnorm.cookieConsent.v1 (localStorage): Cookie choice: your choice in the dialog below, so you do not have to decide again on every visit. Change it through “Cookie choice” in the footer or the button at the bottom of this page.
  • tripnorm.myBookings.v1 (localStorage): My trips: up to 30 bookings created or retrieved in this browser: ID, reference, owner token, hotel name, location, dates, number of travellers and when the record was saved. Status is always fetched fresh from the server, never from the local record. Records are removed when you clear site data in the browser.
  • tripnorm.savedHotels.v1 (localStorage): Saved hotels: up to 100 hotels you have saved, with the price snapshot and search query that produced the choice. Remove them with “Remove” on Saved hotels or through site data.
  • tripnorm.flightWatch.v1 (localStorage): Flight watch: your flight watch, with watch ID, owner token, passenger count and any generated claim letter. It is removed when the watch ends or is reset in Flight watch, or through site data.
  • tripnorm.externalWatch.v1 (localStorage): External price watch: watch ID and owner token for a cancellation-deadline watch started outside Tripnorm. It is removed when the watch ends or through site data.
  • tripnorm.booking.resume.v1 (sessionStorage): Current booking: the details, choice and owner token for a booking awaiting payment with the booking partner, so the page can resume after a redirect. It disappears when you close the tab.
  • tripnorm.payment.v1.<booking-id> (sessionStorage): Current payment step: technical steps for a current booking (prebook reference and transaction ID, never card details). It is removed when the booking is completed or when the tab is closed.

How to clear everything at once Use your browser’s site-data/cookie settings and remove data for this site. If you use a shared or public computer, you should do this, and clear the history from the History view, before leaving the computer. sessionStorage records disappear automatically when the tab is closed.

What is stored on the server

In addition to the browser, Tripnorm stores the following on the server so the service can work:

  • Searches: your free-text search query, interpreted fields and the complete response with hotel choices. They are used to display and troubleshoot the search.
  • Event log: technical events about how the flow worked, including feedback submitted through the feedback form.
  • Bookings and watches: booking details, price watches and, for direct bookings, the guest’s name, email and phone number, as well as the confirmation.

How long information is stored is described in the Privacy policy.. It also states that automatic pruning (proposed: 90 days for searches and the event log) is a proposal that has not yet been implemented.

Voluntary analytics

No voluntary usage analytics are enabled today. If visit statistics are added later, the intention is to use a cookieless option (for example Vercel Analytics, which sets no cookie or identifier in the visitor’s browser) rather than traditional cookie-based tracking. This page will be updated on the same day any such service is actually enabled. Until then, it remains true that no cookies are set and no analytics run.

Change your choices

You can reopen your voluntary analytics choice at any time through “Cookie choice” in the footer or the button below.

Third party at booking

A booking with live prices is completed through the booking partner without leaving Tripnorm, and it sets no cookies. If you instead continue to a partner’s own website (reference prices), the partner’s cookie and privacy policy applies from that point. This is outside Tripnorm’s control and is not described here.
